Fast Forward 6 1/2 Months Later…..

Wowzers… It has definitely been over 6 months since our last post, that is sorta super depressing! So many things have happened in the last few months, my head is still spinning!

Most importantly, Heather’s dog, Pepper, was diagnosed withย osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her back leg and had it removed. She is now our little tripod and is SO much happier and healthier! The vet says she is doing great and her next lung scan is in July ๐Ÿ™‚

It is really hard to imagine life without our sweet P! During the uncertain times, I ran across a really great article that I think would be great for anyone going through this kind of situation and just thought I’d share!

This is definitely one of the biggest things that has happened, and makes us realize how much our pet are family to us!

Definitely intending to post much more often, so if there is anything you’d like to see or share, please let us know!

On the Road Again…. As the Orders Pour On In….

So, once again, I have been quite the jetsetter recently – This week included another trip to Brookyn, NY, Pittsburgh and Morgantown, WV. All over the northeast and I DO NOT understand who can live in that cold, it is just torture for me!!!!

But, with that definitely comes some inspiration and recognition of how much I miss being home ๐Ÿ™‚

Definitely one of the highlights of this trip was the Andy Warhol Museum – Such an amazing use of color and multiple mediums, not to mention the sheer size of his collections – Just thousands and thousands of pieces!

Sales have also been phenomenal and I have finally been able in the last few weeks to figure out our process and my bandanas are now good enough to sell, which means relief for Heather – THANK GOODNESS! But she has been a trooper and finished close to a dozen orders this week, whew! Hopefully we will actually get to turn a profit this month and get a little extra spending money for the holidays!

Here are some photos of the travels…

There were no photos allowed except for the bottom floor – definitely a huge bummer.

CHA-CHING X 2 – A First for SDS

Good morning sunshine, the earth says helllllooooooo! – Can you name that movie? A: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Tim Burton version).ย

Trivia is not my specialty.

Ok, so anywho, I have something exciting to share – Yesterday was the first time we received two sales on Etsy within the hour – WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA’MM! One was our red/black chevron design and is going to Lubbock (Home of Texas Tech, where Heather and I both went to school), so I felt super close to that sale! It is also the first time we sold a true ‘inventory’ item – As in, already made and listed in the shop, no extra work necessary, which is great since Heather has been beyond swamped lately ๐Ÿ™‚

So, curtsey, cue Miss America wave, and a BIG ‘I LOVE YA’LL’ and ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who has been supporting us over the last few months. It is fantastic to see our shop grow and I am proud to have made it this far!

Heather made this really cute and preppy bandana, I had to share ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Vacation with a New Business = A Shit-Ton of New Sales

So – Obviously it figures that when both Heather and I are out of town, interest in the shop has gotten absolutely crazy! Emails and Etsy convos are a daily occurrence from prospective buyers and it is such an amazing feeling.

Except, I wish I weren’t in the Virgin Islands.

Luckily, I can’t believe how amazing Heather has been – She did not leave until Monday and spent the entire weekend sewing customized orders, handled all the shipping, and has even been answering inquiries left and right through emails and Etsy.ย

All while just telling me to relax and enjoy my vacation – She is such an amazing friend and co-owner, and I just don’t know what I would do without her ๐Ÿ™‚

Sadly, the reason I got to blog today was because we are completely rained out in St. John – No sunshine, no beach and the entire east side of the island was closed… I know this because we drove the entire way there, switchbacks through the rain and all…. aka, I almost puked.

But the trip has been absolutely amazing and if there was any way I could live here and bring all my friends…. all my dreams would come true. Here is to hoping SDS bandanas will be my retirement fund!

Anyways, with the slow day, I thought I’d share some great photos with you from our trip so far – Thanks for reading and I’ll be in touch!

PS – New stuff on our INVENTORY page!
